Former Edo North Zonal vice-chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Sunny Okomayin has lauded Governor Monday Okpebholo for once again making Edo people proud due to his outstanding performance in his first 100 days in office.

In a congratulatory message to Governor Okpebholo, Chief Okomayin said that the Edo State chief executive has within the period succeeded in returning Edo State to the path of sustainable growth and development.

Fondly called Bigmon Para01 by his supporters, the top APC politician said that almost all the key sectors, starting with the ongoing construction of a flyover at Ramat Park to education where hundreds of teachers have been recruited, to solid roads construction in the style of former Governor Adams Oshiomhole, to the doubling of internally generated revenue and health have been touched within the short period.

He added that the governor has clearly demonstrated a zero tolerance for corruption and a need for accountability by his cleansing of the local government areas, where the erstwhile chairmen massively looted the treasuries.

While calling for support from Edo people, Chief Okomayin, from Igarra, noted that under the governor and his deputy, Mr. Denis Idahosa, a new Edo is gradually rising from the ashes of the immediate past administration, which lost touch with reality and the yearnings of  ordinary Edo citizens.

He said: “Within the first 100 days in office, the governor has bought over 60 buses for Edo Line. Traditional institutions are being carried along. Substantial subvention is once again being given to the state owned Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma. Just like it’s written in the Book, the people rejoice when the righteous are in power. With Governor Monday Okpebholo, Edo people are no doubt, rejoicing.

Under Governor Okpebholo’s watch, he said that he has no doubt of a complete turn around of the fortunes of the Heartbeat state in the next four years, noting that Edo is poised to once again take a leading position in the comity of states in the federation.
