Spoiler Alert !!!This article contains spoilers for Invincible Season 4 and Invincible comics.
Grand Regent Thragg of the Viltrumite Empire has some of the most narratively important fights in Invincible. His introduction in the story will completely shift the narrative’s power balance. What Thragg is also going to put into perspective is how hilariously outmatched Mark was to Battle Beast when he first appeared in Season 1. It was like throwing Josh Brolin’s Thanos at Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man, that too from the first film.
When Grand Regent Thragg is exiled from the Viltrum Empire, after the revelation that Omni-Man, and by extension Mark, are heirs to its throne. The former regent found himself on the planet Thraxa, perhaps inspired by Nolan’s tryst with Andressa. Here is where the Coalition of Planets tries to get rid of the Viltrumite by sending the one creature outside of their species that is known to hunt and kill- the conquering race: Thokk, otherwise known as Battle Beast.

Thragg fighting Battle Beast has the potential to give Western Animation its Namek Saga moment.
Comparisons between Invincible and Dragon Ball Z are aplenty, and this particular fight can give Invincible one of the greatest episodes ever put on television. It is unlikely that Invincible is going to do Thragg v/s Battle Beast in Season 4, owing to the new plotline that they are looking to explore, and it is probably for the best.
In the comics, the battle between Thragg and Battle Beast lasts quite some time, while other plot developments happen in the foreground. The comic often cuts to the fight, showing both behemoths slugging it out. The fight spans several days.
However, it might make sense that much like the Invincible War and the fight between Broly, Vegeta, and Goku, Invincible should focus on the fight exclusively for a single episode. This will allow fans to feel the full weight of the fight, and also allow animators to focus on it completely.
Invincible Needs Thragg v/s Battle Beast to Top Invincible v/s Conquest

There have been many criticisms of Invincible‘s animation. The fight between Conquest and Invincible, Oliver, and Eve still remains one of the high points of the show. Thragg v/s Battle Beast is going to need to top that when it comes to animation and the fight itself. While Conquest will be returning in season 4, if Thragg and Battle Beast are to duke it out, he is going to have to be slightly sidelined.
Both these characters are immense powerhouses who have been shown to make quick work of even seasoned fighters. Pitting them against each other was perhaps the best move that the Coalition had (although Allen the Alien could have helped tip the balance in Thokk’s favor).
There is little debate that Nolan’s first act as Emperor doomed many worlds. Exiling Thragg rather than executing him cost many lives when he eventually returned to the front lines with his own army of Viltrumite-Thraxan hybrids, which allows him to grow an entire army of child soldiers that can take on the might of the Viltrumite Empire, which has all of fifty individuals, plus Mark.
