The Lagos Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, has tackled former Labour Party governorship candidate in the 2023 General election, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, GRV, over his take on reasons for flooding in the state. In a post shared on his X handle, Gbadebo shared a video of a canal in Lekki Phase 1 covered with weeds. He asked if it is the responsibility of the citizens to clear the canal for easy flow of rainwater or the government.Here is a Canal in Lekki overgrown with weeds that disrupts the free flow of water. As i always say, It is far easier to clear canals than it is to demolish buildings.” he wrote
Wahab who appeared unsettled by GRV’s seeming callout, wrote;Eventually, you will be fine.”
